The mention of Romans made him pause but he gathered his thoughts soon enough, "Interesting. Caesar and Cleopatra, or?" he breathed before passing her the book. "Well, that's good. Could use more archaeologists around," he grinned.

She smiled slightly. "Well it all rests on the success of this presentation I'm to give tomorrow. Thanks." She took the book from him and began to look through.

"Glad to be of help," he replied as he retrieved papers of his own and a notebook that was half way scribbled though. "When's it due?"

"My presentation is tomorrow." She replied and sipped her drink.

"sorry, I know that, I meant time," he shrugged it off before getting back to his notes

She shrugged her shoulders. "I'm not sure exactly. It all depends on when the person before me finishes." Taryn replied, taking down notes.

"Ah, Some time then," he smiled, taking a sip of his coffee. "Good coffee,"

"Yeah." She nodded her head, glanced at him briefly with a slight smile and went back to the book.
A few hours and several cups of coffee later, Taryn was still hard at work with the presentation. It was pitch black outside and as she glanced at the clock she realised just how late it was. One a.m. She ran a hand down her face as she paused for a bit.

He bit back a yawn, he had lost count of how many mugs he had but it didn't nothing to ease the crick in his back. The book had gone to a fro several times and he had managed to get enough out of it to not require it anymore. He finished up, he would have to finish the est at the SGC.
He glanced up and blinked, and rechecked his watch, "Is that really the time?" he strethced his upper frame, the vertebrae causing him bother promptly popped.

"I guess is it." She nodded. "I'm sorry to have kept you up this long."

He shook his head, "One o'clock is pretty standard." he put his things to one side and leaned back slightly. "Got what you needed?"

"I think so. Thank you." Tarn stretched her arms and stood up, beginning to pack things away, "Um... I know we just met, but if you don't fancy driving home now, I can offer you my couch." She pointed to said piece of furniture.

He watched her for a long moment before blinking. He was tired. Tiredness and driving seldom went together very well. He glanced at the couch before he nodded, "Thank you. That's most kind,"

She nodded her head and left the room, a minute or two later she returned with a blanket and pillows. "Here you go." She passed the items to him. "Well... good night."

Early in the morning, Taryn was creeping around her house. She stopped for a minute or two to scribble something on a piece of paper and left the note on top of the pile of Daniel's things. When that was done she quietly gathered up her stuff and left the house, heading off for her presentation.
The note was; 'Daniel, sorry I'm not around when you wake up, but I had to leave really early. Help yourself to whatever is in the kitchen for breakfast, I'm sure you can find the stuff to make a cup of coffee. Thank you again for everything you have done for me. Taryn.'

He woke a while later, a bit later than he normally would have done. The house was quiet and it didn't take him long to find her note. He smiled as he read it before he did get something to eat and drink. That finished, he returned to the note and found a piece of paper upon which he wrote, 'Taryn, thank you for the company and hospitality. I hope you do well in your presentation, let me know how you did. All the best, Daniel'.
He soon left with his things and went to the SGC knowing he would be late if he did leave now.

Jack was in his office, still trying to figure out what he would do with their guests. Sam had told him what she and Daniel had found out and how his mood had been, so he was hoping a good night's sleep, food and water would have helped to calm him down, the others too.

It was a while before Daniel knocked and entered, "Hey Jack, I've been doing some reading," he glanced up from the book he held. "Oh, thinking cap"
---
Vorenus paced, untrusting of the guards outside, they had taken turns in sleeping during the night and he felt better than before. Even though he had given permission, in a way, for their detainment, he still was hating the cage it meant.

Jack looked at him. "Good morning to you too, Daniel. How are you today?"

"Yes, sorry... morning. Not bad, you?" he waited a few moments so Jack could reply if he wanted before he carried on. "I knew I recognised his name from somewhere. It's not usually my field but a Lucius Vorenus is mentioned by Julius Caesar. Jack, they might even be related," he smiled.
"Thought about what you're going to do yet? I assume Sam told you everything he said yesterday,"

"Daniel... That's only for this planet. There is absolutely nothing that even suggests that's the same for this guy. Just get his home address so we can sort this whole problem out!"

He scowled, "Damn Jack, what got your goat," he didn't wait for a reply though, he left, shutting the door behind him with a finality,
--
"Do you think they will help?"
"No. They would rather see everything burn," Lucius replied, he had lost faith in this place. Yes, he might have made a wrong decision but still, there was no telling where this enemy was to strike next.
"We go Cimmeria then"
"Marcus, they're not even in the position to help even if they would," he sighed, peering through the small window of the door.

Vala soon came bounding along the corridor towards Daniel, wearing the green BDU outfit, her hair tied back into two ponytails. It was obvious what she wanted to do... get rid of her boredom. "Hi Daniel!" The former Goa'uld host chirped cheerily. "What are you up to?" The grin on her face was certainly trying to hide how she was truly feeling, but it was a fake grin nonetheless. "Something fun?" She queried, hoping she could join him in whatever it was he was going to do, even if it was just translating a book. "Anything I can help with?"

He scratched his jaw, he was hoping Jack wasn't going to be too harsh. Any new threat they couldn't see was worth at least investigating. He blinked slightly as Vala greeted him all too loudly. "Hey Vala. Going to speak to Vorenus," he replied and tilted his head knowing. "All right, come on," he breathed, knowing that there wasn't really much on base to do for her.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you." She leapt upon him, encasing him within her arms, giving him a big bear hug. "I was hoping I would be able to find something to do... someone to help. I just love helping people." She grinned more, a more true grin this time now that she finally had something to do. 'I hope they haven't taken their treasure away from them. She thought to herself. That was what she was really after, but who could blame her, she'd spent most of her life stealing from others that it was pretty much a second nature to her, her first was to survive, and that she had done on many occasion.

"Vala!" he muttered in surprise before chuckled, giving up and weathered it for a while before he managed to get her to let him go. "Come on." He led the way to where the interrogation room where Vorenus was waiting.
Vorenus wasn't sat down but rather inspecting the room. He was bored and been in the room for a while. He was wearing his plumed helmet and was pacing before he stilled when they entered.

Vala stayed back for the time being, letting Daniel take the lead. She leaned herself against the wall and watched as the guard turned and left the room, leaving the three of them alone. Her attention then turned to Vorenus, carefully examining him, and taking note of exactly what he was wearing and any trinkets that may be of easy reach to pickpocket without him or the archaeologist noticing.
