"General Nukran is a hard man to get a hold of and he's also my wife's father," he said it though it clearly bothered him on some levels. "You can ask your Xindi friends Captain, but Reptilans like to keep their affairs in-house. They may not tell them everything, especially if it's something to be dishonoured about. Even if he knows nothing of this incident, he will want to verify the implication of others trying to start a war."
---
The rest of the place was shrouded in an eerie sort of darkness, the kind where there was some light but it wasn't close by. Groans of the other two that were taken could be heard from their cells before coming round completely. No Xindi seemed to be present right now.

Dani moved into a corner and sat down, knowing she was just going to have to wait. There was no chance of escape. All she could was to contemplate her fate. Before joining Enterprise she had seen pictures of the different species of Xindi, but pictures didn't really give any indication to anyone's height.... and the guys that had attacked were certainly bigger than what she had imagined them to be.
-----
John considered his words for a few moments before nodding his head. "Talk to Hoshi... She'll help you send whatever message you need to."

Reuben nodded for a moment, "If I can get this meeting and provided I can get a second person allowed to come with me, who will you be sending?" he asked softly, deactivating his device and pocketed it away.
"Either myself or Lieutenant Reed," Archer said.
Reuben nodded again and was about to leave before he hesitated and looked uneasy before he spoke again, sadness welling in his eyes, "Dani said I should have told you about why I do not plan to accept your offer to stay. I am a widower searching for a son I lost."

John was slightly surprised by this revelation, but tried not to show it too much. "You know, we'd be more than happy to help you find your son." He said. "But first, we need to find my crew."
-----
After a while longer a noise could be heard at the door. Dani stood up in preparation. After a second or two the door slid open and two Reptillians walked into the cell and over towards the young woman. Immediately her instincts and training kicked in and she began to fight them, trying to keep them away from her, and trying to escape, but they quickly over powered her and pushed her up against the wall, holding her there so she couldn't move. "Let go of me!" She cried out as she struggled against them, but it was no use, they weren't going to let go any time soon.

"By lord, I am truly blessed," he breathed, no more than a whisper. "Till they and my son are found, you I am contract bound, Sir," he said, air racking though his cage. He was not remembered but he was always one to remember loyalties and even in his waylaid humanity as what he was in occupation, he remembered what it was to never leave a man behind.
He nodded once before he left to speak with Hoshi leaving Archer to wonder after him, wondering just what had happened to the man. There had to be some record of him.
"Quiet!" one hissed increasing his leverage upon her as if she was nowt but a matchstick. "Or it will cost you more than you would like,"

Archer watched him and then sat down in his chair, contemplating everything.
-----
She winced in pain and after a few more seconds a third Reptillian entered the room, wielding a gun. The other two pulled Dani forward and forced her onto her knees, bending forward. She kept trying to struggle, but it was no use, she wasn't strong enough.
The one with the gun moved round behind her and placed the barrel up against the base of her skull. Was this really it? They were going to execute her? She closed her eyes, breathing heavily as she awaited her doom. Everything was silent for a moment or two and then there was a click as he pulled the trigger and a hiss from the gun. A sharp pain was felt but that was all, she was still alive.
They released her and stepped back away from her. "What did you just do to me?" She queried, rubbing the back of her neck where the barrel had been.
The two soldiers left the room, leaving the one with the gun to explain. "A small device has been implanted at the base of your brain. It has three functions. The first is a translator, so you'll be able to understand all aliens. The second is a locator beacon, so if you try to escape, we'll know where to find you." He paused and watched her.
"And the third?"
"The third will send a jolt of electricity through your body if anyone presses this little button." He held up a small black device with a button on it. "If you disobey us or anyone else, that will be your punishment." And with that he left the room, leaving Dani sitting on the floor. She was now terrified of what was going on, and only hoped Enterprise would find them before it was too late.

Time passed and whilst Archer's contact had come through with the information that Reuben knew they had been likely to spill back at the humans, his contact had yet to reply. He knew the man would not forget the favour owed so it was only a mattered of time but he had been told several times to stop pacing by the Vulcan, T'Pol.
It took another twenty minutes of worrying about what the Xindi were doing to his old friend before Hoshi's console fired up. Archer coincidently came out from his Ready Room.
"Sir, we're being hailed on the frequency given to us by Mr. Boch,"
"Reuben," the man correctly standing straighter,

"Let's not keep them waiting, answer it." Archer responded, nodding his head. "As he's your contact, you can do all the talking."
Hoshi nodded her head and tapped a few buttons on the console in front of her.

Reuben glanced at Archer and nodded slightly before running a hand through his hair before the screen changed. An irritated looking reptilian Xindi looked back at him and narrowed dusty yellow eyes.
"Whatever you're after, you better say it quick. I'm a busy man,"
"I will not waste your time, Sir, only that my favour carries enough to warrant audience with the General,"
"Ha!" the Xindi laughed and Reuben winced. he had that laugh before, back when he was nowt but a slave. "He too is busy. Come back some other day," he was about to cut the feed before Reuben spoke, feeling the eyes of those around him on him.
"Yes, and I suspect he will love you all the less if he knew what I have kept secret for you. You think it easy keeping that at bay, the money I have turned away that was all too tempting? Ne'skra, you will hear me and get me a meeting with him or I will tell him all and put your house in uproar. You want that?"
"You've not the nose,"
"You think I would not dare?" Reuben laughed, but it was cold, "I've killed for less,"
Silence before the man leaned forwards, "I see your days as a slave has made you hard,"
"It is the years of cruel masters that has made me so," he spat back, "He will want to know what we have to tell him or be it on your head,"
Ne'skra tapped on his console and soon Hoshi received co-ordinates, "Be there in three days. He will be in his office. I suppose one of those will be tagging along with you, " he replied.

Archer sighed heavily. Three days seemed an awfully long time. In three days they could have lost Pike, Walker and Mitchell. They didn't have three days. He stepped closer to Rueben to whisper in his ear. "Can you get them to agree to an earlier time?"

Reuben did not look at him and remained looking at Ne'skra and let his eyes narrow, "I think you can do better than three days, Ne'skra. We are, after all, talking about loose renegades,"
"Renegades?" the man returned, "You must be mad,"
"My sanity aside, I am being very serious. This is worthy of wiping his slate clean for today."
"I'll see what I can do Boch. I promise nothing! It's on your head, you were lucky to leave the last time, I hear. I will contact you soon." the man clicked off and Reuben sighed heavily, placing his head in his hands. He was not looking forward to meeting Neila's father again.

Archer's gaze moved between he two men as each spoke, listening carefully. when the communique was cut Archer gave a little sigh. "Doesn't sound like you're on very good terms with them." He stated, watching Reuben to see what his reaction would be.
-----
It was an hour or two before the door to her cell opened again and in walked one reptillian. All of a sudden he threw a small pile of clothes at Dani, including a pair of shoes and a hair brush. "Put those on, and make yourself presentable." He ordered. She looked at him for a second and stood up, examining what he had thrown at her. "Now!"
"I refuse to get changed when you're watching me." Dani replied. In anger the soldier rushed forward, ready to strike, but watching the woman cower in fear forced him to stop.
"If you are not changed by the time I return, you will be punished." And with that he left the cell.
She slumped to the ground, realising what all of this was for. She brought her knees up to her chest, and using one piece of clothing as a pillow, burried her head away. After a few minutes of calming her nerves down she got to her feet and moved to the door where there was a small control panel located just to the right of it. she was no engineer, but she had watched enough James Bond movies where is was trapped and was able to override door just by disrupting power by pulling off the panel. Maybe, just maybe it would work here.
She took a couple of deep sighs, escape would be her best chance of Enterprise finding her. After a couple of tries,, the panel finally came loose revealing various cables behind it. she reached her hand in, grabbed some of the cables and pulled hard.
Sparks flew, some catching dani and she jumped back in pain as she was shocked, but after a second or two there was the sound of the door lock loosing power and it opened slightly. a smile came to her face and she pushed the door open enough for her to squeeze through and out onto the corridor where she found herself alone. Now all she had to do was to try and find an escape pod, and then she'd be all right.

He gave a hollow laugh but it belief fear as well. He hadn't dared show his face there. Till now. "To say he wants my head on a platter is putting it too finely. I guess I am fortunate that this new political issue is one sort of saving grace... though he may comment on your choice of company," he replied eventually.
"I see..."
"No, you don't see," Reuben cut him off. He didn't want pity or any emotional response. If this was to work he had to reign his emotions in, become the hard man he was again.. It was a while before they were hailed again and Ne'skra was put through once more.
"He seems to be in a generous mood, Boch. Best you hurry to these co-ordinates before he considers you a rat worth eating." the reptilian stated before cutting off for the final time.
"We've received co-ordinates," Travis announced as he punched them in, ready for Archer's order.

"You heard the man, Travis." Archer began, and stepped forward to look over his shoulder. "Maximum speed." He ordered and glanced back over to Reuben. He then looked at Reed and began heading for his ready room. "Malcolm!"
-----
Dani was slowly and cautiously moving along the corridors of the reptillian's ship. a couple of times she had had to hide quickly and once she thought she had been spotted, but nothing had happened. No alrms had gone off yet, but she knew that wouldn't last. As her search for a way off the ship continued she began to doubt if there were escape pods.

T'Pol watched as Reed nodded and left to follow Archer before glancing back to Reuben. The man looked distinctly worried and yet seemed to be trying to reign that in. Clearly the man didn't truly have any idea of what to do with himself on this ship, it was just as foreign to him now as she had found it five years previously. She kept an eye on the man who semed to content to remain standing where he was as she got back to her on work.
-
"Captain?" Malcolm asked, his stance at attention but he Archer well enough now that it wasn't so formal.

The Captain paced back and forth a couple of times, showing that he was worried about his officers, but in particular the rather fragile Ensign Mitchell. He finally stopped and looked at his trusted Tactical Officer. "You're about the only person who knows anything about Ensign Mitchell. I need to know... I need to know how she might be coping with her situation." He said, sitting in his chair and inviting Malcolm to sit down in another.
----
Creeping along the corridors, Dani was nearing what appeared to be a turbolift. she was about to hit a button when alarms began to sound. Her escape had been discovered, sooner than she had expected. A new escape route would have to be devised.
She turned and began running back the way she had come and then took another turning. She couldn't hear any following her and thought she was getting away with it, but there was one thing she had forgotten about.
All of a sudden Dani collapsed to her knees, crying out in pain as the implant was activated. Her fingers tried clawing at the back of her head where the pain was eminating from, but it wouldn't stop. She couldn't get to it.
What seemed like a age, was only a few seconds, and the pain stopped, but it had left Dani in a very dazed position that she couldn't react quick enough when three soldiers came down the corridor and grabbed her, taking her back to her cell.

He sat down, "Firstly, I'd imagine she'd do her best to escape and do her best to resist her captors. She's done very well in her job, and being captured is a possibility we all have to get our heads around, Sir. Barring any foreign element, she's likely to be keeping her head together,"
--
They threw her back in quite hard, their voices hissing and angry at her stunt. One watched her as another fixed the panel. Another arrived who seemed to have the highest authority.
"We don't appreciate stunts like that. Learn your place, rat. You'll live longer," the individual spat before taking the remote, activating the device again for a few seconds to prove his point. He handed it back to the other. "Keep watch this time. I'm not losing all of them to your stupidity!" he left, the other nodded as the door was secured once more

Archer sighed a little bit. "That's what I was afraid of." In some situations a stunt like that was usually a good idea.... but against the Reptillian Xindi..... Dani didn't know what she was up against with them. They were a lot stronger, and held very little respect for anyone other than themselves. "But remember... right now her mind isn't exactly what it usually is, is it? What with Reuben showing up, and her having to explain that she's from the past."
-----
She screamed in pain again, writhing around on the floor. Once it had stopped she lay there, catching her breath.
"Change.... now!" The reptillian spat at her, threatening to hit her with another jolt from the implant.
Slowly, Dani sat up and began to change, knwoing there was no use in trying to argue now. if Enterprise managed to find her again, she only hoped that Phlox would be able to remove it without too much trouble.

"Possibly, but it's in human nature, Sir. We don't leave our people behind. She knows we will exact every manner possible to get her and the others back on Enterprise. I rather suspect Sir that's Mr. Boch's thinking as well. I doubt he'd be willing to let her go a second time now they're reunited, even if she doesn't remember him, he remembers her," Malcolm replied, knowing how far Archer would go to save any member of his crew.

Archer nodded his head slowly and he stood back up, pacing back and forth slightly. He stopped and looked back at malcolm. "Let me know the moment we've arrived... where ever it is that Reuben is taking us." He ordered.
-----
It wasn't long before the leader of the Reptillians returned to the cell, passing a pair of cuffs to one of his Lieutenants. He stepped forward and grabbed Dani, pulling her to her feet. she tried to struggle but another pulled out a weapon, pointing it at her and with that she stopped. She turned her head to glare at the reptillians as the cuffed her hands behind her back. with them secured then pulled her out of the cell and along the corridor towards a transporter pad. Already waiting there were several other Xindi and Pike and Walker, also in different clothing, and their hands in cuffs behind their backs.

He nodded, "Yes Sir," he turned and left the Ready Room pausing when he saw Reuben by the situation room terminal console eyes closed and shoulders squared. He sighed slightly before taking his post.
---
"Where you are going is a place where disobedience is severely punished. You will be expected to do as you're told, when you are told with faithful obedience," one hissed at them before moving on to the pad. It was activated and they were beamed away.
---
It was an hour or so before they reached their destination and the ship came to an eventual halt
"T'Pol to Captain Archer. We have arrived at our destination,"
It wasn't long before Archer stepped on to the bridge.. Reuben turned as the Enterprise received a communiqué, watching as Hoshi interpreted the message and turned to speak.
"The General is willing to meet with you but says you should be sharp about it. He has also said you'd know where to find him,"
Reuben's face was deadpan before the eventual smirk broke out and he shook his head before looking sharply at Archer. "This won't be pretty, whoever you're sending... Better be quick about deciding."

Archer turned to look at Reuben. "It's my crew that has gone missing, I'm the one that's going." He replied, matter of factly. He wasn't a happy bunny about this, particularly when they had declared peace with the Xindi.
----
Just seconds later the three starfleet officers, along with two Xindi guards, appeared on the surface of a planet. It was sunny and fairly warm. Standing not too far away was a much more human looking alien. He stepped forward and began to inspect the three humans, circling round them. He was taller than Ensign Mitchell, but around the same height as Pike and Walker.
"Excellent specimen." He repeated a few times. "Excellent indeed." He stopped infront of Mitchell and suddenly grabbed her chin, forcing her to look at him. she immediately began to struggle, but his grip was too tight and his nails began to dig into her skin, and so she stopped. The alien laughed a little. "This one certainly has a bit of spirit." He grinned. "What species are they?"
"Human." One of the guards replied. "Are you going to pay us for finding them for you?" He added, sharply, just wanting to get out of there.
With a slight sigh the man nodded and stepped over to a case that was on the ground not too far away. He picked it up and handed it to the Xindi. "Exactly what you asked for." They made an exchange of case for the controllers and then after signalling their ship, the Xindi were beamed up and were gone.
A couple more aliens came out of a building and over to them and began to take all three away. "Wait a minute!" The first alien called out to stop them. "Leave the female with me." He grabbed her arm. "I have special plans for this one. Take the males to the viewing cages ready for the sale in two days time." He pulled Dani closer and began brushing a hand down her face. "I think I'll keep this one for myself." he grinned.

Reuben had expected nothing less even if he would have preferred someone with more training like Reed had. Reuben knew how to read others, it was a skill that often paid off when situations went sour. He knew Malcolm could more than handle himself but Archer, well the man didn't exactly leave Reuben Boch that enamoured.
"All right, but I warn you. Nukran pretty much hates me," he wasn't going to lie or mislead, not here and not now. Not when he was close to losing the one person in this mess to have kept him sane. Still, he was not looking forward to this meeting at all and even more unhappy Archer would lay witness to it. Nukran was not a man you pissed off and got away with very often and doubly so if you were with his daughter.
He moved towards the door, "I will need my helmet and I suggest we don't keep him waiting,"
Archer nodded before he looked at T'Pol and Malcolm, "T'Pol, you have the con. Malcolm, keep a steady eye out,"
"Aye Sir," Reed replied, Archer could hear his concern about his Captain going off when he clearly felt it should be him going but Archer was glad for the respect that Reed had clearly grown to let him go and protect the ship. Archer really didn't want further incidents of snatched crew. He nodded and turned leaving with Reuben.
Half an hour later they arrived at the complex where they were to meet General Nes'kra and were met by a shorter but no means less scary looking Reptilian Xindi.
"Seems you mean business then, Boch," the man stated, recognising the man from his expensive helmet than anything else.
"Yes, and you're wasting our time and the General's," he answered tersely knowing he was pretty much in charge of getting Archer through that door. Once inside, all bets were off. the man nodded and turned, waving a hand at them to follow. Archer glanced at the other human but could read nothing from what part of Boch's face he could see. The man knew how to wear a mask of both kinds.
They were led down several passageways before two guards at a door could be seen. They blocked the group's entry before the shorter Reptilian explained the situation. They gave the pair of humans an unreadable stare before allowing them through. the short Xindi introduced them to the General and left.
"You have a lot of gall to come in here and demand audience with me Boch. Especially after what was done. I hope what you have to say is as urgent as you seem to think before I see reason to have you executed,"
Nukran reminded Archer strongly of Dolim but then Reptilian Xindi were that much more difficult to distinguish as far as individuals went, beaten by the insectoids. He was going to speak before Boch looked at him and shook his head before stepping forward.
"I used to be a lot braver," he began before he reached up and removed his helmet. he knew the other had not seen his face in a while, "But I come here to inform you of an insult to you, your honour and the oath made. I think you have trouble with rebels or free merchant,"
The man's eyes darkened before he closed the space between them, "Is that so?"

Archer stepped forward to speak now, they were his crew on his ship, he had the information he had to speak. "A few hours ago a Reptillian Xindi ship approached mine, some of their crew boarded my ship and kidnapped three of my crew. I just want to know where they will have been taken so I can get my three crewmen back." Archer spoke with confidence, but he wasn't angry at all, he had no reason to be angry with this particular individual.
----
Dani glanced over her shoulder and watched as Pike and walker were escorted away to some rather shabby looking buildings, before she felt a tug on her arma dn she was pulled along by the alien to a much nice looking building. She was pulled inside and into a small room that had a chair and bed in it, not much else.
"I'm going to lay down some ground rules."
"Forget it... I will not do anything you say, the only person I take orders from is Captain Archer!" Almost immediately she fell to her knees, crying out in pain as the man activated the implant.
he sighed slightly. "I had hoped I wouldn't have to use this, but I see I'm going to have to. So let's try that again. You will do as I say." He reached forward and grabbed her hair, yanking her head back so he could look at her face as he towered over her. "Any disobedience and I will be forced to use this." He toyed with the device in his hand a little. "Do you understand?"
Dani said nothing and in his anger and gripped her hair tighter and pulled her head back more. With a wince she did her best to nod her head. "Understood."

Nukran regarded the taller individual for a moment before dusky yellow eyes that were typical for his fifth of the species turned back to Reuben with an angry vigour. Reuben could tell what the man would do next but he gave no resistance as the stronger and taller Xindi grabbed and lifted him against a wall. "I should kill you, Boch and you think this news will save you?"
Archer moved but the look on Reuben's face stopped him from probably making a mistake the matter that was between the two unlikeliest of relations. Reuben's eyes turned back to the other fully aware of how easily the man could snap his neck in two. Not many people would miss him and strangely he wasn't pained by that fact.
"You think she means nothing to me, Nukran? I'm cold, calculative and heartless in appearance because the job demands it. A warm heart and doubt hardly gets me paid, now does it?" he replied shrewdly, seeming to take most of the strain in his stride. Course, he had been in this tricky spot several times. "I still mourn her and I won't stop till I find the one who did it, I will find my son and I can promise you that even if it means killing you."
Nukran laughed, making Archer wince somewhat but it was giving the starship Captain a cruel insight into reuben's life in the Expanse.
"You haven't a..." "Haven't I? You know my resume just as well as the other Xindi do. You're no fool, Nukran, I do not think for even a minute that you would be stupid enough to let your honour of oath to the Xindi High Council of the treaty between Earth and Xindi be abused. Wake up, master... They're using you, insulting you and your honour. You're better than that even if you do hate me,"
There was a very pregnant pause as the Reptilian considered Reuben's words. Archer could do nothing, they had not been allowed in with any weapons and he felt that to intervene now would cost them an ally they sorely needed. After what seemed an eternity, Nukran growled venomously before his grip tightened causing Reuben to cough before the scaled hand unceremoniously let go of the battered human. Reuben dropped to the ground sputtering.
Nukran remained where he stood before he looked at Archer, "You have visual evidence of this?"
--
He smiled cruelly for a moment before he released her, "You've experienced breaking rule one and breaking all the other rules I have for you to comprehend will return the same result. I suggest you pay attention," he said, lifting the remote as if to threaten activating it again. He then went over the rules that would ensure that she would be a perfect little slave and more.
"You understand your place now?" he said, unblinking and expectant.

The Enterprise Captain nodded his head. "I do."
-----
She paused for a few seconds, trying to get her breath back as he had released her hair while listing the rules. "Yes." She knew she would have a lot of trouble following them and being a slave. She was a security officer, and a damn good one at that. A fighter to the end, but then there was that implant, and that just might break her if used too often.
The man looked at her and moved behind her, taking out a small key and unlocking the cuffs that were keeping her hands behind her back.

Neskra looked at him before he pointed at his console, "Show it then."
Reuben got to his feet and Archer steadied him as he seemed to lose his balance. He removed his device from before and activated it. First it showed the internal scan it had made when Dani and the others had been abducted. It showed the lifesigns were not human before it shifted again to give a video feed of the vessel leaving. Archer scowled and Reuben shrugged, "Sorry, didn't have time to ask but they are insurgents breaking the rules of the treaty. You need to nip this in the bud, Neskra. Humans are off limits, you know that,"
Neskra watched and it was clear he was not liking what he was seeing, "You will forward all evidence you have, warp trail, anything, to Nar'ell. What are you wanting from me?"
"Your aid, General. As Reuben said, we both want this to be resolved quickly. It will be faster with your fleet than ours. Depending how large this operation is,"
"I see,"
"What's your but, Neskra?" Reuben said sharply, "You have your spies, you should know where the biggest slave traders are. That is our lead."
"It is not a matter which warrants your Captain's presence. I will talk to you later about it. For now... I will allow you the use of two of my attack vessels and I will assign you as temporary command," He said to Boch before looking back to Archer, "Providing you send all evidence you have within the next 24 of your hours,"

Archer clenched his jaw at that. "They are my officers, members of my crew!" He spoke through gritted teeth. "Anything you have that leads to their safe return does warrant my presence."
----------
The man nodded his head in satisfaction as he stepped away from Dani, and she did nothing but nurse her wrists, helping the blood flow back into her hands. "That's more like it. Keep this up and you'll be getting dinner tonight." And with that he turned and left the room, locking the door behind him.

Nukran's expression turned visibly cold as he looked at Archer and Reuben scowled between them as the General answered, "You are lucky that the treaty between the Xindi High Council and your Federation is in effect, Archer, or the both of you would be dragged out of here in irons. Boch and I have other matters to discuss that does not require you knowing about it. It has nothing to do with your lost crewmen," he spat before moving to his desk and turned his monitor around, "You can send it now, this frequency. Given our previous administration, we are heavily watched. I cannot just simply hand you my vessels without the evidence to warrant their use. You would do the same if things were reversed."
Reuben thought for a moment before he put his helmet back on, drawing a look of irritation from the reptilian xindi in the room. He took it off after some moments, "It's a safe frequency Captain. There are no bugs in this room to snoop," he said, "It wouldn't take much of Enterprise's time. You think you're the only one here chomping at the bit to get them back but you're not. Sometimes, you have to deal with the necessaries, arguing over it wastes valuable time."
